Italy 2025 | Trip Costs

  • Deposit

    • Upon submitting the registration form, a S$200 non-refundable deposit is required of choral participants to confirm their place

    • Non-singing participants do not need to submit a deposit

    • Our first priority is to determine if we have sufficient choral (singing) participants (23-26 or more) for the trip to proceed

    • Registration will open 17 September and close 18 October

    • Deposits will be refunded if the trip does not confirm

    • If the tour confirms, deposits will not be refunded if a singer withdraws after the closing date​

  • Activity costs only - S$700

    • This fee covers all group activities and land arrangements for choral participants

    • Choral participants are asked to participate in the below minimum of group activities

    • Non-singing participants are by default opted OUT of group activities, but may opt IN at an additional cost

    • As such, non -singing participants do not have to pay the activity fee

    • Activities include a 2-hour tour of St. Mark's Basilica district

    • Visit to historic St. Mark's Basilica, Basilica de Santo Marko Venetia

    • 1-hour boat ride down the Grand Canal

    • 2 dinners for choral participants

    • Concert booking costs and rehearsal contingencies at the Venice churches

  • Additional costs

    • S$500 balance for activities will be due end of January 2025 for choral participants

    • Non-singing participants may OPT IN for the activities; if so, the additional fee will be due end of January to reserve your place for the scheduled activities

    • A non-singing participant who opts out of the activities may wish to purchase a ticket on the day of an activity; but places are limited and may not be available

    • All payments for the Italy Tour will go through IFC registered society and the IFC Committee will make payments to the travel agent on behalf of choristers

    • Exception is those booking their hotel through the travel agent, where hotel fees will be paid to the travel agent

  • Airfare

    • All participants book and cover the cost for their own flights

    • Due to carrier preferences, travel needs, layover and cabin preferences, tour participants will book their own flight itinerary thus managing the cost and itinerary to their liking

    • Arrival time must be prior to 4:00 pm local time on Saturday, 29 March
       

  • Lodging for 5 nights

    • Participants may book their own hotel accommodations

      • select from the 3 choices listed below

      • book accommodations at hotels not on the below list; keep in mind distance, transit time and cost when booking at other hotels   (see FAQs - travel agent can advise on location if you book on your own)

    • Participants may book their accommodations through the travel agent Ergo:Travel and choose one of the below 4-star hotels:​

      • CHC Continental - twin or double occupancy S$2500 (S$1250 per person)

      • Best Western Hotel Tritone Mestre - twin or double occupancy S$1000 (S$500 per person; single occupancy S$750)

      • Single occupancy staying in double occupancy room is $1930

      • NOTE: Costs above are indicative and are still being negotiated

    • About the above choices:

      • CHC Continental is located within the Historic Centre of Venice on the Grand Canal, while Best Western Hotel Tritone is located on the mainland urban nucleus of Mestre, next to the railway station that connects to Venice

      • The journey from Mestre to Venice takes only 11 minutes by train and 17 minutes by bus and costs €1.50 per journey

      • Public transport operates in the evening and throughout the night
         

  • Meals

    • Morning buffet breakfast is covered in hotel costs when booking one of the above hotels through the travel agent

    • Mid-day and evening meals are covered by participants

    • With the exception of the two group dinners covered by the activity costs
       

  • Travel insurance
    Travel insurance is highly recommended as soon as possible in the event of travel interruptions; this should enable participants to claim back expenses paid for the deposit, assuming the cancellation is beyond their control
