Janet Snoad, the IFC President and our favourite superstar, talks food, music, kindness, and Federer.

If you had a world-class chef make you any dish you want, what would it be?
Would have to be crème brûlée – my all-time favourite dessert. I’ve never made it myself, so would also like to watch said chef making it!

You’ve been sent to a deserted island for five years, and you can only bring three music albums. Which three would they be?
Keane (Hopes and Fears) – I have played this album so many times, but never get tired of it. Elton John’s Greatest Hits to sing along to – I reckon I know most of the lyrics. The Best of Mozart – a little bit of classic for relaxing and falling asleep to.

Person you’d want to be stuck in an elevator with:
As I am a keen tennis player and a German-speaker – I would like to be stuck in an elevator with Roger Federer. He seems like a really nice guy and would be able to give me some tips on how to improve my game 🙂 If Roger uses the stairs, then Eddie Redmayne. I don’t know what it is about this guy – I think it’s his eyes! Was also surprised how good a singer he was in the Les Misérables film – so maybe we could sing a bit of Les Mis together to pass the time away.

Most embarrassing poster on your wall when you were a teenager
David Cassidy – which shows how ancient I really am! I bet half the choir hasn’t even heard of David Cassidy. Donny Osmond (who?) comes a close second.

What’s the kindest thing anyone’s ever done for you, or the kindest thing you’ve ever done for someone else?
I think the kindest thing I’ve done for someone – is to take a complete stranger home with me, whom I met at Frankfurt station late one night. She was crying as she had just lost her wallet with all her money and rail card in it. She would have had to stay in some dubious station hostel overnight until the rail card office opened the following morning. So I gave her a bed for the night. It was a bit risky, but I just trust my gut instincts sometimes. “Do unto others” my Mum always said 🙂

What are your favourite smells?
roasted garlic, fresh coffee and freshly baked bread and cookies.

What nickname would you love people to use on you?
El Presidente of course! Or Jansy-babe if you prefer.
